Free Poker Software Tools

The explosion of online texas holdem has given birth to some excellent free poker software tools for improving your game, understanding odds, and running your own tournaments at home. There are dozens of these tools out there. As poker junkies, we have tried a good number of them. Our editor's top choices are marked below.

Free Online Poker Tracking Software

Online poker tracking software helps you keep track of your financial results at the poker table. Keeping solid records of your wins and losses helps you to analyze your financial results for potential problems, and gauge your overall improvement as a player.
  1. Free Poker Session Tracking - PokerDominator.com
Free poker analysis tools including pot odds, pre-flop hand help and session tracking with detailed stat analysis, custom charts and bankroll management.
    Editor's choice!

  2. CheckYourBets.com
A results tracking site for logging and reviewing your sessions. In our opinion, not quite as good as poker dominator, but still a good site.

  3. Free Poker Software - PokerTracking.com
Free web-based poker tracking software. Track your poker performance statistics online.

Free Poker Odds Calculators

 Poker Hand Odds Calculator

Poker hand odds calculators are useful for determining the mathematical likelihood of one hand defeating another hand (or a group of hands). You can view the percentages for both pre-flop and post-flop.
  1. Texas Holdem Odds Calculator - NEW!
Our free web-based poker hand odds calculator. Calculates odds for up to 5 players in a hand, as well as 8 different variations of poker.

  2. Poker Hand Simulator - by John Cleland
A small windows based program we found a while back. No installation needed, it just pretty much plugs and plays. An excellent quick program for those of us who can't stand hitting a website every time we want to calculate hand odds.

  3. Expected Value Calculators
Ever wanted to know whether or not you should have called that large all-in bet? Were you getting the proper pot odds? If you made that call every single time, do you have a positive EV (expected value)? Find out with this free expected value poker calculator.

Poker Hand History Tools

Online card rooms give you a chance to keep a log of the games you've played, including all of the bets and your opponent's mucked cards. These logs are called "hand histories". The tools on the right will help you get more use from your saved hand history logs.
  1. Party Poker Hand History Replayer - TightPoker.com
A free "replayer" for party poker hand histories. Simply copy and paste your Party Poker hand history into the text window, and you can watch the game all over again.

  2. Poker Trace - Hand History Replayer
A free standalone Windows program that replays your hand histories for Paradise Poker.
